About Ninth Life Foundation

The Ninth Life Foundation is set up to rescue and rehome cats whom are high care, aged, abandoned, death row or cats in need of a new home due to a change in circumstances and provide each and every cat with a high level of welfare considerations. We’re a registered charity limited by guarantee and have obtained our Donation Gift Receipt status with ACNC.

It’s a very specific niche that we are focusing on, one that often gets ignored… particularly when we have bumper kitten seasons. The older cat needs special care as they often have health issues. They also need to be rehomed into an environment that will suit their particular traits. We believe in high standards and individual care. The welfare of the cat will always be paramount.

Ninth Life Foundation has a vision to develop an approach that can be replicated in many different locations. At the moment we are taking cats from a variety of places including Blacktown Council pound, Hawkesbury Animal Companion Shelter, Golden Oldies pet rescue and individuals who need our help.

Each cat receives a full health and wellness check with all cats over 7 years old receiving a blood as well to ensure it can be successfully rehomed. Accommodation is currently provided by Divine Creatures luxury cat hotel who have dedicated 6 rooms to the charity. So far in 2021 we have already rehomed over 50 cats!

On the Board of Directors is Jules dos Santos (Chair) who is a qualified Veterinary Nurse of 20 years experience, a former manager of a large emergency hospital and the owner of Divine Creatures luxury cat hotel which has cared for over 6,000 cats over the last 10 years. She has a Level 4 Diploma in Cat Psychology which has allowed her to start Divine Creatures Cat Whispering which assists owners and cats rehabilitate their relationships.

Jules is joined by Dr Yvonne Van Der Veek and John Holland. Yvonne has been an Emergency Veterinarian for 15 years, currently a part time Veterinarian for Small Animal Specialist Hospital. Yvonne assists the charity making informed welfare decisions on the management of cats. John is a former Board Director and President of the Cat Protection Society of NSW and has been an advisor to the Board and CEO of Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. He brings lots of business experience and charity operational know how to the team.

Welfare is our passion, our mission and our purpose.

The governing principle will always be the welfare of the individual cat. This is our passion and our point of difference from many other charities. Each and every cat will receive welfare checks every day with all their welfare needs exceeded daily. We go above and beyond for our rescue cats.

Perspective new homes are screened directly by Jules dos Santos. The right cat is matched to the right home and only homes who meet the cat welfare criteria will be offered an adoption cat.
