Mullumbimby & District Neighbourhood centre

Mullumbimby & District Neighbourhood Centre Inc is a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation formed in 1987 to provide a variety of community welfare services to people in the locality of Mullumbimby and surrounding districts.  The MDNC currently delivers a mix of programs and services across the Byron Shire.

  We achieve this by:

• Connecting and referral of community members to a range of services and resources that meet their need.
• Advocating and resourcing.
• Consulting with community to identify need and initiate and sustain services to cater to community need.
• Networking in the spirit of collaboration and in partnership with other service providers.
• Engaging and empowering vulnerable community members through education, information, and support.
• Promoting community participation through events, community education and volunteering.
• Providing practical assistance to other groups, for example access to MDNC building and related facilities.
• Demonstrating commitment, accountability, and sustainability.
• Enhancing safety, wellbeing, and self-sufficiency; and
• Providing ongoing opportunities to staff and volunteers for professional development.
