Khamsum Zilnon Drukpai Lhakhang Inc. (KZDL) is a registered Buddhist Society located in Western Australia. It was founded under the patronage of His Eminence Laytshog Lopen Sangay Dorji Rinpoche from Zhung Dratshang, the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan. Lama Tshering Wangchuk, also from Zhung Dratshang, serves as the Chairperson and resident spiritual teacher at the center based in Perth, Western Australia. The name “Khamsum Zilnon Drukpai Lhakhang” has been bestowed and blessed by His Holiness the 70th Je Khenpo Trulku Jigme Choedra of Zhung Dratshang. This name signifies the Bhutanese Temple in Perth, Western Australia. “Khamsum Zilnon” refers to the founder of the Drukpa Lineage of Vajrayana Buddhism in Bhutan, while “Drukpai Lhakhang” translates to “Bhutanese Temple.” Our primary focus is to preserve and promote Bhutanese culture, tradition, and Vajrayana Buddhism. We achieve this by offering dharma services and providing a place of worship for the peace, well-being, and happiness of our community members. Furthermore, our efforts aim to enrich the multicultural fabric of Australia. We are dedicated to upholding the values and teachings of Vajrayana Buddhism, fostering cultural exchange, and contributing to the overall harmony and diversity of Australian society. Objectives: As a remark of respect and devotion to this sublime being, the name was initiated, and Bhutan Buddhist society of Western Australia has been incorporated with the following objectives – To uphold and promote core Bhutanese culture, tradition, and Vajrayana Buddhism To provide dharma services of Zhung Dratshang (Central Monastic Body of Bhutan) and other related activities to its people/devotees in Australia. Promote peace, wellbeing, and happiness of Bhutanese communities far and beyond by offering spiritual services for all devotees residing in Western Australia. To establish, maintain and run places of worship, to promote and propagate the religious, cultural and spiritual welfare activities of the Community. To provide a place and services for all Tendrel ceremonies, rituals for the living and deceased. To foster goodwill, peace, happiness, and understanding between the Buddhist community and the wider Australian community. To provide teaching and facilitate Bhutanese (Dzongkha) language to the community.
