The Queer Society The Nest Youth Group MEGA Raffle
Adelaide's first and only youth group for transgender 11-15 year olds. Help us build a safe place for young people to be themselves and explore their identity. <3
The Nest Youth Group is a social support group that will benefit transgender and gender diverse 11-15 year olds and their families in Adelaide. This group will meet twice a month after school hours and is free for all members. A different theme activity is available each session if the young person would like to join in. Otherwise there will be an area for chatting and playing board games amongst other activities. Group members are provided with a safe space to make friends and socially support each other.
There is a lot going on in the world right now that makes it very scary to be young trans person. The project aims to contribute to suicide prevention by reducing social isolation and strengthening young people’s connections with peers, trusted adults and supportive families. Transgender youth are at very high risk for suicide. Having positive adult role models significantly reduces this risk. Thank you for helping our mission!
