Funds raised from this raffle will go toward Stars of Nowra which is a community fundraising event for Cancer Council NSW, since commencing in 2016 the event has raised over $1.3 million. Just like on the television show ‘Dancing with the Stars’, 12 prominent Shoalhaven community members work with a professional dance instructor over 12 weeks to choreograph and learn a dance routine, which they then perform in front of a panel of judges. The dance couples will compete for five awards: Judges Choice Award, People’s Choice Award, Highest Fundraiser, and Best Costume. In the lead up to the event and on the evening, the local 'stars' commit to raise money for Cancer Council NSW to go towards our local Cancer Council support services in the Shoalhaven… which local STAR will be crowned this year’s winner?

It is through events like Stars of Nowra that we can continue to provide cancer patients and their families in the Shoalhaven with cancer support and information services such as home help, transport to treatment, 13 11 20 support line, cancer prevention programs, local advocacy, cancer research and offer access to free financial, legal, and emotional support.
Funds raised support the local community, allowing Cancer Council NSW to continue to provide access to practical support services such as:
- Free Transport to Treatment: Last financial year, 111 patients were transported to treatment with our volunteer drivers making 1,283 trips to get community members to and from their cancer treatment.
- Accommodation: Last financial year, we provided 896 nights of reduced-rate accommodation at the Shoalhaven Cancer Care Centre Accommodation to 75 people to keep families together and close to treatment.
- Financial Assistance: We help people affected by cancer who are experiencing financial hardship with access to financial counselling and emergency financial assistance payments. Last financial year, we supported 151 people affected by acute financial hardship in the Shoalhaven to the value of $52,860.
- 13 11 20 Information and Support line: Free and confidential service where you can speak to a specialist cancer professional about anything to do with cancer, including referrals for cancer support. Last financial year, 312 people affected by cancer in Shoalhaven were referred to Cancer Council NSW for support.

- Third Prize: The Bay Discover & Dine Experience — includes a Gift Certificate for 2 people to participate in a Discover Local Snorkeling Tour and a Couples Picnic Voucher (valued at $430).
- Fourth Prize: South Coast Wellness Bundle — includes a 10 Class Pass Gift Voucher to South Coast Soul and an Endota Spa Voucher for either a 30-minute organic express facial OR 30-minute relax express massage (valued at $320).
- Fifth Prize: The Concert Experience — includes a Double Pass to see Cloud Control on June 14 at The Barn On The Ridge, with a pizza for each also included (valued at $120).
- The Prizes cannot be upgraded, downgraded or exchanged for cash or credit or used for trade-in purposes.
- Start date and closing dates of raffle are 30 April 2025 until 9:45pm on 17 May 2025 (this time might vary depending on the event and scheduling).
- Tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10, 8 for $25, 20 for $50, 30 tickets for $70, 50 tickets for $100, 100 tickets for $180.
- Raffle to be drawn on Saturday 17th May 2025 at 9:45pm at Stars of Nowra Dance for Cancer 2025 at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre (time subject to change up to an hour). The winner will be notified on the evening if present for the raffle or by telephone and email (if provided) within 3 business days.
- If any of the raffle prize winner/s do not claim their prize by 31 May 2025, there will be an 'unclaimed prize draw' virtually. Prize winners will be notified via telephone call of their win.
