Rozelle Child Care Centre (RCCC) was established on Wangal country in 1986 in the historic gatehouse of the Rozelle Hospital, Callan Park. It is a community based, not-for-profit long day care centre that offers high quality education and care for children birth - 6 years. A much-valued service within the community, our program is inclusive of the historical site we sit on. We support and take part in community, cultural and volunteering initiatives, most recently an Intergenerational Program run by local charity Together2 and the Remote OpShop Project.
RCCC, with our 25 valued Early Childhood Educators and support staff, provides a service for 89 children from Rozelle, Lilyfield, Balmain and surrounds. We are actively supported by the local families that use our service with regular Working Bees and fundraising activities essential to our operation. We are proud that different generations of the same families have attended RCCC. We want to continue to operate for generations to come.
As a not-for-profit organization, we rely on grants, fees, fundraising and support from our parents. Rising costs are a challenge. It is important to our service that we can maintain fee levels that are accessible for the community, and we are increasing our fund-raising activities to support this.
