Over the course of 14 extraordinary seasons, it’s become clearer and clearer that there have been very few Raiders to ever match the brilliance of Josh Papalii. Four Mal Meninga Medals, a representative player at every level and a proven big-game player, Papalii has not just been one of the greatest but also one of the most loved to have ever pulled on the green jersey. As Raider #300 reaches game number 300, pay tribute to one of Canberra's all-time legends with GREEN MACHINE. Few players in the modern era have represented their club for so long, and with such aplomb, that they essentially become the physical embodiment of that Club’s culture and values. Jarrod Croker, without doubt, not just belongs in this category, but may well be in a league of his own, even in that rarefied air. Over fifteen seasons, Croker has led try-scoring, led point-scoring, and perhaps most importantly, been a leader on-field and off-field espousing the Raiders’ most treasured values: among them courage, integrity, hard work and a team-first ethos. For many years, it seemed certain that the achievements associated with Croker would be his prolific point-scoring and on-field leadership. But as we acknowledge this milestone in 2023, to see him overcome the physical adversities of the last few seasons, to not just survive but thrive again at the top level – this may be his greatest achievement of all.
