Every year Merewether High School comes together to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation through the World’s Greatest Shave campaign; the only national foundation dedicated to those who are afflicted with blood cancers. They aim to fund scientific research to improve current treatment methods in hopes of finding a cure. The foundation also supports individuals who are suffering from blood disorders as well as their relatives through helping with treatment costs and providing counselling for families.
With 1 Australian being diagnosed with blood cancer every 27 minutes, helping the Leukaemia Foundation is of vital importance to our school community. This year we have numerous students shaving, dying or cutting their hair as part of our Merewether High 2025 team!
