The Queensland Police Service is sending two teams of runners and logistical/support staff to compete in the 2025 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay - an event that brings together law enforcement agencies from across the globe for a test of endurance, teamwork, and camaraderie; and also honours our colleagues who have sadly lost their lives in the line of duty.
Scheduled to be held over the weekend of 5-6 April 2025, the event will see over 260 teams of runners compete on a gruelling 192 kilometre course which commences in the Mojave Desert town of Baker, California and then proceeds over the mountains and onto the finish line in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Obviously, quite a lot of planning and logistics go into making the trip from Down Under to the USA, along with the cost of athletes paying their own way. As we gear up for the 2025 event, we are conducting a fundraising raffle to assist in offsetting costs such as entry fees, team uniforms, vehicle rental, equipment hire etc. This will not only help us achieve our goal of representing Queensland on the international stage, but also fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community that we serve.
