MenAble Australia Inc Cancer Research and Recovery Support Fundraiser for Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute and MenAble

The Cancer Research and Recovery Support Fundraiser for Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and MenAble is a fund-raising collaboration supporting research into new cancer treatments derived from the sea sponges found around the Busselton Jetty and a program supporting the recovery of those undergoing cancer treatment.

Internationally renowned researcher, Emeritus Professor George Yeoh is the team lead at the Liver Disease and Carcinogenesis Laboratory at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The team are researching a range of novel compounds produced by sea sponges found around the Busselton Jetty, which exhibit anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anticancer activities.

Harry Perkins Institute is a leading Western Australian medical research centre dedicated to tackling some of the world’s biggest health issues. Its world-class teams accelerate the delivery of life-saving breakthroughs to improve the health of all Western Australians both today and for future generations. The Busselton sea sponge research is part of The Biota Pipeline, a Perkins initiative that was born from one man’s love of nature as a resource, comfort and most importantly healer. Chris Reichstein did not live to see his legacy come to life, but his vision is pushing medical research forward through the power of the natural world.

MenAble Australia Inc are a regional for purpose health and wellbeing organisation. Their work promotes men’s health as well as a range of wider community health initiatives. They are supporting a program offering free resistance training sessions for individuals undergoing Chemo and Radiotherapy cancer treatment in the Capes region. The physical as well as psychosocial benefits of resistance training when undergoing such treatments are well established.

Promoter

The online raffle Win The Ultimate Margaret River Escape Package will be conducted by MenAble Australia Inc via its nominee, David Barton. The benefitting organisations are The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research ABN 16823190402 and MenAble Australia Inc ABN 20930181796.

Relevant States

Entry is open to residents of the following States/Territories aged 18 years or older at the commencement of the Raffle:

• Western Australia (WA)
• New South Wales (NSW)
• Victoria (VIC)
• Queensland (QLD)

Residents of any other State and Territory not listed above are NOT PERMITTED to purchase tickets in the raffle and are not eligible to win the prize.

Entry Restrictions

The following people are not eligible to enter and are not eligible for any prizes:

1. Members of the Management Committee from the Organisation conducting the raffle or benefitting from the raffle;
2. Employees and Contractors of RaffleTix;
3. Any other person directly engaged in managing the raffle or conducting the draw; or
4. Any immediate family members of any of the above. Immediate family means a person's spouse (including de-facto spouse), parents, children, and any other family members residing at the same premises as the person.

The following entities are not eligible to enter and are not eligible for any prizes:

• The Organisation conducting the raffle;
• The Organisation benefitting from the raffle.

Verification Requirements

If requested by the Promoter, a person drawn as the winner of a prize must produce proof of age and residency prior to being awarded a prize. If they do not do this promptly to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoter, the Promoter may redraw the prize subject to the relevant regulatory approvals, in which case that person forfeits any right to claim the prize.

Maximum Number of Tickets

2500 tickets are available for purchase. Single ticket price is $20

Maximum Number of Entries

No maximum applies. Participants may purchase as many tickets as they like while the Raffle remains open, and tickets are available.

Prize Details

There is one inclusive prize for the raffle. The prize elements include a range of luxury, adventure and wellbeing offerings.

The prize elements, including all relevant Terms and Conditions relating to the prize elements, can be seen under the Prizes heading on the raffle website.

The total prize value if all elements are utilised by the winner is approximately $13,300. Prize value is accurate as at the commencement date for the Raffle. All costs, fees, charges, or expenses associated with the Prize(s), which are not specified, are the responsibility of the Winner(s).

Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable. The winner may choose to only use some of the prize elements offered.

The only prize element that can be taken partly or fully as cash is the flights option. This element of the prize is provided by project sponsor GenesisCare. The $3,000 is a contribution toward flights into Busselton from the winner’s home state. If the winner is from WA or the Eastern States winner chooses not to use the $3000 for the purchase of flight tickets into Busselton, a local flying experience in the Capes Region will be offered (subject to availability) with the balance of the value in cash will be provided, or the option to take the full $3,000 in cash will be given to the winner.

If for any reason a prize element is not available, the Promoter will substitute it for another prize of equal or higher value (at the Promoter's absolute discretion), subject to regulatory approval.

Draw Details

The Draw will take place on 7/9/2026 at 10.00am, at 55 Bussell Highway West Busselton 6280 WA.

The draw will take place in accordance with State Government regulations. The draw will be conducted by the Promoter.

Draw Method

The draw will be conducted electronically using the RaffleTix random draw process and a random number generator. The winning ticket number will be selected at random from all eligible ticket numbers, with each ticket number having an equal chance of being drawn. Only one ticket will be selected as the all inclusive prize. There will be no additional tickets draw or subsequent prizes offered.

Notification and Publication of Winners

Winners will be contacted by phone and email within 3 business days of being drawn. The Prize Winner's name will be published on the Raffle Website and the MenAble Australia Inc Facebook page within 3 business days of being drawn.

Prize Claim

Prize redeemable in 2026 between 16th and 25th September or 12th October till 30th November. This is the Spring Season excluding the Western Australian school holiday period.

All elements of the prize for up to 4 adults to participate.

Winner may choose which elements of the prize they wish to utilise.

Winner to be provided with voucher / authorising correspondence for each prize element and is required to make the individual bookings of the elements of the prizes they wish to utilise.

Prize elements not transferable to a third party.

Prize elements timing of use within the period of the Luxury Escape Experience subject to availability with individual providers of prize elements.

No negotiations may be entered into regarding substitution or cash equivalent other than the $3000 contribution to flights. For this element the full amount may be taken as cash or part fight experience in the Capes region with the balance in cash where the winner is from WA.  

No cash equivalent of other elements of the prize are available.

The raffle organisers assume no risk in regards to any element of the prize experiences.

Elements of the prize are provided by donor businesses who have the rights to apply conditions ordinarily applicable to the provision of their products or services.

If you are a Winner, you are responsible for your use of the Prize, including complying with all relevant laws and any applicable terms and conditions of use.

Unclaimed Prize Arrangements

If a Prize is not claimed by the Prize Claim Date or is deemed invalid in accordance with the Entry Restrictions, the Promoter reserves the right (subject to regulatory approval, if required) to sell that prize. Proceeds from such sale will be paid to the Promoter to be used for not-for-profit purposes.

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, the raffle Promoter will attempt to resolve the dispute directly with the Complainant. If a satisfactory outcome between the parties is unable to be achieved, the Promoter will liaise directly with the relevant State and Territory Authorities.

Additional Terms – Privacy

Where notification of the Raffle is provided by supporting partners or third parties promoting the raffle, those parties promotion materials or correspondence will be provided in accordance with the applicable privacy policies plus any other policies or obligations applicable to the promotion of such a fundraising raffle.
