Rallying Behind One of Our Own 

Jacob Redmayne is an 11-year-old member of our Belconnen United Sharks community who has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare brain cancer, with only 12 cases reported globally.

Following successful brain surgery, Jacob now needs to travel to the United States for specialised Proton Beam Radiation Therapy, a treatment that is not currently available in Australia. After returning home, Jacob will then spend approximately six months in Sydney undergoing chemotherapy.

The months ahead will mean a significant amount of time away from home for Jacob and his family, along with many additional out-of-pocket and day-to-day expenses.

Our Sharks community is coming together to help support the Redmayne family through this incredibly difficult time.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and our community, we have an amazing selection of prizes up for grabs.

100% of the proceeds from this raffle will go towards supporting Jacob and his family throughout his treatment.

Every ticket purchased makes a difference and helps Jacob’s family stay together and focus on what matters most — supporting Jacob through his treatment and getting him home.

2026 Major Raffle - Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC 2026 Major Raffle. The raffle is conducted

for fundraising purposes by Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC.

1. Promoter

• The promoter is Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC, ABN 14 951 282 167.

2. How to Enter

• Tickets will be sold online through RaffleTix (raffletix.com.au) and may also be sold to attendees at the Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC Presentation Day.

• A maximum of 5,814 raffle tickets/entries will be available.

• Ticket packages are: 1 ticket for $5; 3 tickets for $10; 10 tickets for $30; and 15 tickets for $40.

• An entry is valid once the ticket purchase has been successfully completed and the entrant has been allocated a raffle ticket/entry number.

3. Eligibility

• The raffle is open to members and supporters of the Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC community, including eligible persons purchasing online and eligible attendees at Presentation Day.

• Entrants do not need to be present at the draw to win.

• Any eligibility restrictions imposed by the ACT raffle permit, applicable law or the RaffleTix platform will apply.

4. Raffle Period

• Start date: The raffle will commence on the date the required ACT raffle permit is issued and the raffle is activated for ticket sales on RaffleTix. No tickets will be sold before the required approval is received.

• Closing date and time: Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 3:00 pm (AEST). No entries will be accepted after the raffle closes.

5. Draw

• The raffle will be drawn on Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 3:30 pm (AEST).

• Draw location: Kingsford Smith School, 100 Starke Street, Higgins ACT 2615.

• The draw will be conducted fairly and transparently. The major prize will be drawn first unless the approved raffle conditions provide that a winning entry remains eligible to win another prize.

• Winners do not need to be present at the draw.

6. Prizes

The total retail value of the prize pool is $5,814. Prizes are subject to any supplier terms, expiry dates, booking requirements or other conditions that apply to the donated item or voucher.

7. Winner Notification and Publication

• Winners will be contacted directly using the contact details provided with their raffle entry, including by email and, where a telephone number has been supplied, by phone and/or text message.

• Results will also be published through Belconnen United Sharks JRLFC social media pages and in the Sharks newsletter distributed to the club community as soon as practicable after the draw.

• Winners are responsible for ensuring that the contact information supplied with their entry is accurate and current.

8. Prize Collection

• The promoter will make reasonable arrangements with each winner for collection or delivery of their prize.

• No fee will be charged to a winner to receive their prize.

• A winner may be required to provide reasonable proof of identity and/or their winning entry before a prize is released.

9. Unclaimed Prizes and Redraw

• The promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact each winner by the contact details provided with their entry.

• If a winner has not responded or claimed their prize within 14 days after the original draw, that prize will be treated as unclaimed and a redraw will be conducted, subject to the ACT raffle permit and applicable law.

• Unclaimed prize redraw: Sunday, 11 October 2026 at 12:00 pm (AEST).

• Redraw location: 28 Gordon Withnall Crescent, Dunlop ACT 2615.

• Any redraw winner will be contacted directly using the contact details supplied with their entry, and the updated result will be published through the club's social media pages and/or Sharks newsletter as soon as practicable.

10. General Conditions

• Each valid raffle ticket/entry has an equal chance of being selected in the draw.

• The promoter's decision in relation to the administration of the raffle and verification of entries is final, subject to applicable law and any direction of the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission.

• If a prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the promoter's reasonable control, the promoter will deal with the matter in accordance with the ACT raffle permit and applicable law.

• The raffle will be conducted in accordance with the Lotteries Act 1964 (ACT), the conditions of the raffle permit issued by the ACT Gambling and Racing Commission, and these Terms and Conditions. If there is any inconsistency, the permit conditions and applicable law prevail.
