Stonham's Blokes in support of Mark Hughes Foundation Stonham's Blokes Big Trek Raffle
A few mates have started a raffle for this year’s Big Three Trek which five of us have will complete the 150km over three days during beanie for brain cancer round. We have organised a golf day to be held at East Leisure and Golf on May 1st where the raffle will be drawn.
We are all completing the walk on behalf of our great mate Matthew Stonham a local lad who was first diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 30 in 2015 when he unexpectedly collapsed on the field. he was rushed into an MRI and within two hours a Neurosurgeon on call advised Stonham had a brain tumour. Three weeks later he had brain surgery. While everything seemed normal once again, in January 2021, routine scans showed the cells in Stonham’s tumour had changed, requiring him to have another brain surgery, with his cancer a stage 3 diagnosis.
Matt completed the walk last year and a few of us boys decided to get involved this year and that is where Stonham’s Blokes was formed.
