The ABA was established in 2008 to help facilitate the efforts of like minded wild horse interest groups throughout Australia. We do this by sharing information and expertise as well as providing a collective voice in regard to the humane management, welfare, preservation and promotion of what we consider to be a national treasurer.
Activities of the ABA should focus on strategic issues that are beyond the ability or scope of any single member group to undertake, or that are of significant interest and benefit to the membership as a whole.
The ABA is a not for profit organisation, our main service is advocacy for wild horses in Australia, we do this by making submisisons to parliamentary inquiries, letter writing campaigns, promoting education and information re wild horses, we run social media campaigns, organise meetings with all stakeholders to try to facilitate improved communication, support rehoming organisations with information and advice (where possible), provide information and advice to general public (where possible) regarding rehoming wild horses, we provide media interviews and statements.
