Mayoral Charity Raffle 2023

Each year the Mayor of the Mornington Peninsula Shire organises a charity event, with the funds distributed to a local organisation of the Mayor's choosing. As someone passionate about supporting local organisations that are dedicated to improving the lives of young people, I have chosen the Mornington Peninsula Foundation as this year's beneficiary.

Sponsors

The raffle is generously sponsored by Shaw and Partners and Community Bank Mt Eliza (Bendigo Bank), and presented by Mornington Peninsula Foundation and Mornington Peninsula Shire.

All funds raised will be donated to the Mornington Peninsula Foundation, ensuring they can continue to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families who are facing challenging circumstances.

MPF is a place-based philanthropic organisation working closely with 10 schools across the Mornington Peninsula. MPF's vision is a Mornington Peninsula free of socio-economic disadvantage and their mission is to support communities to break the cycle of disadvantage.

MPF's focus is on the transition to evidence based teaching integrated with locally based community support services. The work is seeing improved literacy, engagement in learning and attendance. More schools are keen to join the systems change – with more funds more schools can become involved.

Helping our community to thrive, we're in the business of community development!

Mt Eliza Community Enterprise Ltd works with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank to manage and operate Community Bank Mt Eliza. The branch is a social enterprise-style business which enables us to make local investments that support our community. Local investment decisions are made by our local board of volunteer directors.

Our activities keep money here in our community, driving growth, jobs and local financial resilience. This helps make the wider Mt Eliza area a great place to live, work and do business.

Every day we support the residents of our region to lead active, healthy and connected lives. We provide funding to organisations that build the capacity and resilience of local residents, and encourage people to participate in the community and support local businesses.

We have:

  • invested over $600,000 back into the wider Mt Eliza community
  • operated Community Bank Mt Eliza since 2010
  • supported over 50 local not for profit and community organisations based in and around Mt Eliza
  • paid dividends to our 190 local shareholders
  • provided Bendigo Bank’s award winning products and services to over 2,600 local customers.
