Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) is the peak national gynaecological cancer research group in Australia and New Zealand. For over 20 years, we have conducted world-leading clinical trials research.
ANZGOG's purpose is to improve the outcomes and quality of life for women with gynaecological cancer, by conducting and supporting clinical trials and other research that helps women affected by gynaecological cancer.
WomenCan is the public-facing fundraising arm of ANZGOG. Through Team Teal, WomenCan engages with sporting communities to raise much-needed awareness and funds for women with ovarian and other gynaecological cancers. Team Teal aims to provide women with the knowledge to talk to their health care professional if experiencing these symptoms.
There are seven gynaecological cancers including; ovarian (fallopian), uterine (endometrial), cervical, vaginal and vulval. 6,600 Australian women will be diagnosed this year. Ovarian cancer is the most deadly cancer for women, with a survival rate of 48% to five years. Endometrial cancer is the most common type of gynaecological cancer and is commonly linked to lifestyle factors. Cervical cancer is the only type of gynaecological cancer with a screening, early detection and vaccine.
We are very grateful for the support of Norths Collective and the North Sydney Bears for assisting in the promotion of this raffle to their membership and beyond.
