Purchase a rubber duckie or two (or three!) to support the Rotary Club of Morialta to raise funds for projects that will benefit our local community.
The duck will be racing down the rapids at Thorndon Park Reserve on Friday January 26th 2024, Australia Day, to win a share in over $2000 in cash and prizes.
Come along to cheer your duck on. The first ten ducks from each of eight heats will go through to the final, with prizes both for grand final placings and for heat winners, and there will be plenty to get quacking about on the day. Action starts 1pm and wraps up at 3:30pm.
The duck race is a fun family event, located at one of Adelaide’s best picnic locations and a new adventure playground recently voted Australia’s best! (though you don’t have to be there to win).
Last year we had a quacking good time and this year’s event will be even bigger – with free face painting for the kids, and a selection of food stalls selling a range of hot food, popcorn, donuts, drinks, and fairy floss.
Tickets for ducks are available by using this form. Simply complete the details and we will send you the numbers of your racing ducks for the day. You get one duck for each ticket you buy. Ducks will race in eight heats with numbered ducks (tickets) racing in groups of 300. So if you have Duck 299 it will be in heat 1, and Duck 500 in heat 2, etc.
What a terrific gift for a Kris Kringle or for the grandies! And all for a good cause!
Funds raised from the 2024 Duck race will be distributed to
- Australian Rotary Health to research Juvenile Mental Health issues.
- Heart of the Nation project to install defibrillators at locations in our community.
- Foodbank to provide food for those in our community doing it tough.
- Local youth initiatives to support driver education, careers in STEM, and leadership development, in conjunction with our local high schools.
Thank you for your support of our community initiatives. While you don’t have to be there on the day to win, we look forward to seeing as many racers and spectators as possible, to make this an Aussie Day Duck Race for the ages.
WILL YOU BE A LUCKY DUCK?
