Relay for Life is a global movement that brings communities together to celebrate cancer survivors and carers, remember loved ones lost to cancer and unites local communities to fight back for a cancer free future.
In it’s 14th year, Fairfield Relay for Life was scheduled to take place on Saturday 14th November at Mount Pritchard Oval Bonnyrigg. Unfortunately due to Covid guidelines, we will not be holding a physical event this year. However there will be a virtual aspect to the event, and we are encouraging all teams to participate in walking and fundraising in the lead up to the virtual event on 14th November. Details of the program for this day will be released closer to the date.
Relay For Life is Cancer Council’s most successful fundraising and signature community event, with 130 Relays taking place nationally this year. Relay’s are an experience that will stay with you forever. The event allows Australian’s to come together, support each other and raise funds for Cancer Council’s lifesaving work.
All funds raised go towards Australia’s leading cancer charity, Cancer Council. Underpinned by research, 61,000 Australian lives have been saved by improvements in cancer prevention, screening and treatment over the past 20 years.
But with an estimated 134,000 new cases of cancer expected to be diagnosed in Australia this year, we need every Australian to rally behind us and help continue this vital work.
The Raffle is a great way for participants to raise funds for the Cancer Council. All funds raised will be allocated to your team, and providing a virtual way of selling tickets is an additional way you can now raise funds.
